Colle di Caprauna
OBSERVING THE LANDSCAPE
The panorama of Colle di Caprauna takes in several different landscapes: the Alpine landscape up to the head of the Tanaro Valley, with the often snow-capped peaks of Mongioie and Pizzo, with high pastures and mountain woods; then as far as the Mediterranean, with the sea in the background, above the ridge line of the Arroscia Valley and the terraces where ancient vegetables are grown (such as white turnips) in Val Pennavaire, with Caprauna and Alto on the Piedmont side. Not to mention the olive groves climbing towards the chestnut groves almost to the mountain pastures.
